Communication 21 Media Group Strengthens ASEAN Ties Through Strategic Visit to Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Phnom Penh (Cambodia), 23 April 2025Dr. (h.c.) Benny Yeo, Founder of Communication 21 Media Group and Executive Chairman (ASEAN) of the Global Confederation of Belt and Road Economic Cooperation, led a high-level delegation of founding members to Phnom Penh, Cambodia from 22nd to 24th April 2025.

The visit marked a significant milestone in advancing regional industrial collaboration, investment connectivity, and strategic partnerships across ASEAN and China.

Key Highlights of the Cambodia Mission:

1.Strategic Partnership – CamHR


On 22nd April, the delegation held a pivotal meeting with CamHR, Cambodia’s leading online and offline recruitment platform. It was confirmed that CamHR will venture with Communication 21 Media Group to manage and expand operations into the ASEAN region. This partnership aims to strengthen regional workforce mobility, industrial recruitment, and AI-powered talent matching across Southeast Asia.

2.High-Level Networking Dinner – JD Polman Hotel


On the same evening (22nd April), the delegation was hosted for a prestigious dinner by the executive management of JD Polman Hotel (Cambodia). The event welcomed numerous VVIPs, dignitaries, and industry leaders, creating an exclusive forum for fostering diplomatic goodwill and business networking.

3.High-Level Government Engagement – Ministry of Tourism


On 23rd April, the delegation visited the Ministry of Tourism in Phnom Penh, where they met with senior leadership:
H.E. Chea Se (MBA), Secretary of State: Discussions centered on cross-border tourism connectivity, digital media partnerships, and investment promotion within the ASEAN-Connect and China-To-ASEAN framework.


H.E. Thok Sokhom (PhD), Secretary of State (Vice Minister): A visionary dialogue focused on promoting ASEAN-wide tourism with Cambodia as a key hub. A major highlight was the proposed establishment of a Tourism and Hospitality Academy in Cambodia, aimed at nurturing regional talent and enhancing tourism innovation. The meeting also covered plans for the ASEAN Unity Drive convoy, which will pass through Cambodia and is expected to stop at the Ministry of Tourism in Phnom Penh on 28th April 2025 as part of its regional route. This stop was discussed as a significant opportunity to further elevate Cambodia’s visibility within ASEAN’s integrated tourism landscape.

4.Council Meeting – Global Confederation of Belt and Road Economic Cooperation


Also held on 23rd April at the JD Polman Hotel, which serves as the Cambodia Headquarters of the Global Confederation of Belt and Road Economic Cooperation, Dr. Benny Yeo chaired a strategic council meeting.

During the session, Dr. Benny emphasized the urgent need to unite the industrial and commercial sectors in the ASEAN region to prepare for the influx of Chinese enterprises. He highlighted the critical role of the ASEAN-Connect (东盟互联互通) and China-To-ASEAN (中国至东盟) initiatives in facilitating this integration.

It was officially decided that all entities onboarded under the China-To-ASEAN platform will automatically become affiliate members of the Global Confederation, enabling seamless engagement and business connectivity with participants on the ASEAN-Connect platform across the region.

The council also confirmed that the Global Confederation of Belt and Road Economic Cooperation will be fully promoted under Communication 21 Media Group’s ASEAN-Connect and China-To-ASEAN initiatives. The Confederation aims to promote 2.3 million industrial and commercial sectors in China into the ASEAN region, leveraging AI-enabled business matching and digital integration. It is anticipated that tens of thousands of Chinese organizations will participate in promoting themselves under the China-To-ASEAN platform. The interconnection between China-To-ASEAN (中国至东盟) and ASEAN-Connect (东盟互联互通) will significantly enhance regional industrial connectivity, while the support of the Global Confederation will facilitate impactful cross-border collaborations and partnerships.
