ROM FRAGMENTED INFORMATION TO CONNECTED OPPORTUNITIES — BUILDING A NEW CHINA–ASEAN BUSINESS ECOSYSTEM

PHNOM PENH, CAMBODIA | 5 OCTOBER 2026
Communication 21 Media Group today joined a four-party Strategic Alliance Agreement in Phnom Penh, marking an important step towards building stronger business connectivity between China and ASEAN.
The Strategic Alliance brings together VECONAC Business Centre – Veterans Association Royal Brunei Armed Forces (VARBAF), VECONACDE AI Services, Communication 21 Media Group, and the Global Confederation of Belt And Road Economic Cooperation.

For Communication 21, the significance of this collaboration goes beyond the signing of an agreement.
One of the biggest challenges facing businesses across ASEAN is that valuable information remains fragmented across different countries, organisations and networks.
Companies may have the right products. Buyers may have genuine requirements. Distributors may be looking for new principals. Manufacturers may need technologies or partners.
But very often, they simply do not know how to find one another.
The Strategic Alliance aims to help bridge this gap by combining regional business networks with technology, structured digital cataloging and AI-powered business matching.

Mr Wilson Tay, Group CEO of Communication 21 Media Group, will lead Communication 21’s technology and platform contribution to this collaboration.
At the backbone of these capabilities is Catalog Connect, providing the digital cataloging infrastructure and AI business-matching capabilities needed to progressively structure information around:
Companies → Products → Capabilities → Requirements → Buyers → Suppliers → Technologies → Projects → Opportunities
The objective is not simply to build another online directory.
It is to create a digital environment where businesses can be discovered according to what they offer, what they need and what they are looking for, allowing AI to identify potential connections and support the development of real business opportunities.

The alliance also creates an important bridge with China.
Dr. (h.c.) Benny Yeo, Founder of Communication 21 Media Group, represented the Global Confederation of Belt And Road Economic Cooperation in his capacity as Executive Chairman (ASEAN) at the signing.
Through the Confederation’s China and Belt and Road networks, suitable Chinese enterprises can be connected with businesses within the developing VECONAC ASEAN ecosystem, while ASEAN enterprises can similarly explore opportunities, technologies, suppliers, buyers and partners from China.
This creates a truly two-way business corridor:
CHINA ⇄ ASEAN
Mr Wilson Tay said:
“Technology becomes meaningful when it solves a real business problem. Across ASEAN, opportunities exist, but information is often fragmented. Our role is to use technology to organise that information, make businesses more discoverable and help the right companies find the right opportunities.”
The emerging model is clear:
VECONAC brings trusted regional relationships.
The Global Confederation opens connectivity to China and the wider Belt and Road network.
Communication 21 brings market and business connectivity.
Catalog Connect provides the digital cataloging and AI business-matching backbone.
🤝 From fragmented information to structured connections.
From connections to collaboration.
From collaboration to real business.
